Job Summary

The Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Functional Lead will serve as the hands-on functional expert across General Ledger, Cost Center Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Project Accounting, Product Costing, and Margin Analysis.

 

The Sr. SAP FICO Functional Lonsultant will support daily operations, month-end close, system stabilization, and continuous improvement while leading the design and implementation of enhanced manufacturing-costing and profitability capabilities. The successful candidate must combine broad Finance and Controlling experience with demonstrated hands-on expertise in manufacturing accounting, Product Costing, production/process-order accounting, and S/4HANA account-based Margin Analysis.

 

This individual must be able to independently configure solutions, troubleshoot cross-functional issues, partner with Finance and Manufacturing leaders, and take work from requirements through configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.

On-Site Expectations

  • 100% on-site position.
  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SAP FICO functional SME in a post-go-live RISE with SAP environment.
  • Deliver profitability reporting across customer, product, manufacturing site, project, contract, and batch, based on available processes and data.
  • Con, figure and support Product Costing, including costing variants, valuation strategies, cost-component structures, activity rates, overheads, standard cost estimates, and cost releases.
  • Support production and process-order accounting from material consumption and activity confirmation through work in process, variance calculation, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Configure and support Material Ledger, inventory valuation, and Actual Costing, including month-end activities and resolution of posting or settlement failures.
  • Ensure accurate integration and cost flows across Finance, Controlling, Materials Management, Production Planning, Sales and Distribution, warehouse processes, Project Systems, production/process orders, WBS elements, inventory, cost centers, and profitability segments.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to gather requirements and implement business-aligned process improvements.
  • Support month-end close, cost-center planning, financial allocations, profitability analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Work with technical teams to develop and test reports, interfaces, and system enhancements.
  • Lead user acceptance testing and training for new functionality and process changes.
  • Ensure financial processes and system controls meet accounting, compliance, audit, and reporting requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement, participate in the SAP Change Board, and contribute to the future SAP roadmap.
  • Create and maintain functional documentation, including configuration specifications, standard operating procedures, and process flows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of SAP FICO experience with at least 3 years in S/4HANA.
  • SAP certification in a relevant FICO or S/4HANA area is desired.
  • End-to-end implementation of S/4HANA Margin Analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Material Ledger and Actual Costing configuration and close experience.
  • Process-manufacturing experience in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, life sciences, food, or another batch-managed environment.
  • Experience integrating Project Systems and WBS elements with manufacturing and customer profitability.
  • RISE with SAP, Fiori, and embedded analytics experience.
  • Prior experience supporting or leading a RISE with SAP implementation is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial close processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working in a regulated or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of SAP FICO best practices and configuration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex finance-related SAP issues.
  • Proficiency in process mapping, documentation, and training delivery.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and collaborating across functional teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Travel Expectations

  • Up to 25% travel expected.

The employee is required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment to perform the job duties. Such personal protective equipment may include but is not limited to safety eyewear, various types of respirators/breathing apparatus, lab coats, gloves, etc.
