Job Summary

The Senior SAP PTM/EWM Functional Specialist is accountable for driving operational excellence through the optimization of SAP S/4HANA processes, specifically in the Plan-to-Manufacture (PTM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) areas. This position plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing our SAP landscape following our recent go-live on RISE with SAP. The ideal candidate will serve as the functional subject matter expert, partnering with business and IT stakeholders to stabilize, support, and evolve our manufacturing and warehouse systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the SAP functional lead for PTM and EWM processes in a live RISE with SAP environment.
  • Configure and enhance SAP S/4HANA modules: PP-PI, and EWM to support manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Lead requirements gathering, process mapping, solution design, and implementation of enhancements post-go-live.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, warehouse, and supply chain teams to ensure efficient and compliant SAP solutions.
  • Support and optimize key SAP activities including process order management, batch management, warehouse staging, MRP, and stock handling.
  • Ensure seamless integration between SAP PP, EWM, MM, and QM modules.
  • Partner with developers on functional specifications for customizations, reports, interfaces, and Fiori apps.
  • Support testing efforts (unit, integration, UAT) and lead defect resolution activities.
  • Document configuration, write SOPs, and provide training and knowledge transfer to business users.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP/GxP standards and support system validation where necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and participate in future SAP rollout phases
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on SAP experience including 3+ years in S/4HANA.
  • Expertise in SAP PP (including PP-PI) and EWM configuration and process design.
  • Experience supporting SAP go-lives, particularly within RISE with SAP environments.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing (pharmaceutical, biotech, CDMO) strongly required.
  • Familiarity with SAP integration tools, Fiori, and IDoc/BAPI interfaces.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of Plan-to-Manufacture processes, shop floor execution, and warehouse operations in SAP.
  • Ability to design and support SAP solutions that meet compliance and operational needs.
  • Proficiency in documentation, process mapping, and end-user training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.
  • Good business acumen.
  • High level of personal & professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic.

Travel Expectations

  • Up to 20% travel required.

The employee is required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment to perform the job duties. Such personal protective equipment may include but is not limited to safety eyewear, various types of respirators/breathing apparatus, lab coats, gloves, etc.
