The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist develops, supports, implements, and sustains EH&S programs at the cGMP Operations, and at manufacturing, laboratory, and supporting facilities. The EH&S Specialist ensures the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors, protection of the environment and maintenance of compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations. Reporting to the Senior Management in Operations, the EH&S Specialist works closely with the Corporate EH&S Director as well as other EH&S team members to ensure program alignment across the larger Alcami organization.

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

• Fosters a safety first and quality always culture across the campus and various business units.
• Be a customer service focused leader ensuring training, waste management, and other support activities occur in an efficient and timely manner to support operations.
• Ensures compliance with environmental regulations including RCRA waste management, wastewater permits, biological waste management, and SPCC permits.
• Implements and maintains EH&S compliance programs including onboarding of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), hazard communication, permit-to-work, Fire Safety and Emergency Response.
• Manages PPE evaluations and re-certifications including safety shoes, respiratory protection, safety glasses and hearing protection.
• Monitors and evaluates occupational safety and health conditions including physical, chemical, and/or biological hazards.
• Conducts assessments, inventories, and inspections to ensure compliance and program effectiveness including participation in peer audits at other Alcami facilities.
• Ensures medical, hazmat and safety processes and supplies are maintained and serve as part of the hazmat and medical response teams.
• Conducts and/or reviews incident investigations and the development of appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, safety, engineering, or scientific field preferred. Minimally equivalent required.
• 1 – 3+ years of EH&S experience in a regulated setting required.
• Prior pharmaceutical and/or cGMP operational and warehouse safety experience preferred.
• Prior experience with EPA, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations is preferred.

• Good knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local environmental and safety regulations along with the ability to interpret basic issues and recommend course of action.
• Good problem solving and ability to conduct basic investigations using root-cause analysis ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative measures required.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence and interact with employees at all levels.
• Good organizational, presentation and written and verbal communication skills required.
• Prior experience developing and facilitating training programs.
• Technological proficiency required.

• Up to 20% travel required.
